Today is Republic Day in India, marking the day when the Constitution of India came into force in 1950. The UK and India are close in so many ways and to the huge benefit of both countries.
I have spent a great deal of time reflecting on this issue, listening to different perspectives, and considering the potential consequences. After much thought, I came to the decision that I could not support this Bill.
